Last night Hurricane Helene, one of the largest hurricanes in a century, devoured Florida’s coast—flooding homes, snapping trees, smashing power lines, and even taking lives.
Helene struck as a Category 4 storm more than 500 miles wide, with wind speeds up to 140mph ravaging communities and torrential rains submerging cars and houses. Even now, it’s pushing further inland, knocking out power and causing water rescues as far as Atlanta, Georgia and South Carolina.
