NEPAL — Right now, families across Nepal are facing the heartbreaking aftermath of devastating flash floods. Roads have been washed away, communities have been cut off, and families are searching for a way forward after losing homes, belongings and so much more.
Churches and friends in affected areas have been reaching out for help. Some people remain stranded or trapped because roads were closed or destroyed by the floodwaters. Others are facing the unimaginable reality of having lost everything.

But even in the midst of such devastation, hope can shine through.
Operation Blessing Responds to Urgent Needs in Nepal
Operation Blessing’s Global Disaster Response Team arrived in Nepal and immediately connected with local partner Compassionate Hands for Nepal to better understand the crisis and identify families in need.
The team quickly began packing and distributing hygiene kits, bringing basic necessities to people staying in temporary shelters. So far, 105 hygiene kits have been distributed, each containing supplies such as soap, detergent, shampoo and a towel for a family of four.
And there is another gift bringing light into the darkness: solar lamps.
For families who have lost so much, these simple items can offer a sense of dignity and comfort during an incredibly difficult time.
A “Little Miracle” in the Darkness
One Operation Blessing team member described the solar lamps as “a little miracle” and “such an incredible addition.”
In one small village, more than 400 families are sheltering in a school and camp after the floods. Operation Blessing is bringing hygiene kits, food and additional assistance while the team continues assessing needs in affected communities.
Behind the scenes, teams are also preparing for what comes next. Water filters brought from Operation Blessing headquarters are ready for distribution, while additional filters are being sourced locally to reach remote communities.
Operation Blessing India staff and a medical team from a partner hospital are also joining the response, with a mobile medical clinic planned as the effort continues.
