THAILAND – Hnin’s early life was marked by tragedy and heartache. She and her younger sister were raised by their older brother, who struggled with a gambling problem. His debts left little money to buy food, so Hnin often had to beg neighbors for something to eat. But thankfully, caring friends like you intervened through Chedikho School in Thailand, supported by Orphan’s Promise. Your love made all the difference for Hnin.

Finding Hope Through a School Feeding Program

When she started with our program in kindergarten at age 9, Hnin was very thin and couldn’t read or write. “I would watch other kids eating, running around, and enjoying themselves,” she said. “I felt so sad and left out. I felt sorry for myself.” At first, Hnin struggled. She used bad language, broke the rules, and even stole from other children. But through the caring dedication of a teacher and a pastor at the school, Hnin began to change.

Thanks to you, she received the educational support she needed to grow her confidence. She also learned about the love of God through CBN’s animated series Superbook. And kindhearted friends like you helped make sure she had something else she desperately needed—nutritious meals through a school feeding program.

Through our school feeding program, students at Chedikho School receive healthy lunches to nourish their growing bodies and give them the energy to learn, play, and thrive.
