A Baby Saved Through Emergency Surgery in China

Jul 13, 2026

CHINA – Just days after baby Yijia was born, her parents feared they were losing her. When she became seriously ill, her stomach began swelling and she cried constantly in pain. Desperate for answers, her family turned to traditional spiritual rituals and healers, hoping someone could help their newborn daughter survive. But Yijia only became worse. She vomited everything she ate, developed a high fever, and shook in pain as her tiny body weakened more each day. “It felt like she was dying,” her mother shared.

A Race Against Time

Finally, her parents rushed her to the hospital, where doctors discovered the terrifying truth: Yijia’s intestines were twisted, preventing her from digesting food properly. Dangerous bacteria had severely infected her digestive system, and doctors warned that without surgery within 48 hours, she could die.

The family was devastated. They desperately searched for help, but no one would lend them the money for the lifesaving operation. Some even encouraged them to give up hope. “There was no way we’d give up on our baby,” her parents said. “She was waiting for us to save her.”

Compassion Made a Miracle Possible

Then the doctor connected the family with Operation Blessing. Because of compassionate supporters like you, Operation Blessing helped provide the emergency surgery Ije urgently needed. Doctors were able to operate in time, making this a powerful story of a baby saved through emergency surgery and restoring hope to her family.

Today, baby Yijia is healthy, smiling, and finally able to eat and digest food normally. Her family says she loves to laugh and play outside now — something they once feared they would never see.

A Future Filled With Hope

During the family’s journey, Operation Blessing volunteers also prayed with them and shared the love of Jesus, bringing comfort and hope during one of the darkest moments of their lives. “Thanks to Operation Blessing, my daughter is alive,” Yijia’s mother said. Because of caring friends like you, families facing impossible situations are receiving lifesaving medical care, hope, and a chance for a brighter future — just like this baby saved through emergency surgery.
