Esteban Castro has been the National Director of CBN Mexico since 2018. In 2025, he was also selected to direct Operation Blessing in Mexico. Since 2004, he has served and worked in various roles within the organizations, including segment producer, associate producer, senior producer for CBN programs as well as being deployed to assist with Operation Blessing disaster relief efforts.  

His involvement with numerous Operation Blessing projects includes documenting stories across Latin America, responding to the earthquakes in Mexico in 2017, assisting Ukrainian refugees in Poland in 2022, and participating in disaster relief efforts after Hurricane Otis in 2023. 

He leads a team of media professionals responsible for the program Vive+, a weekly series that brings thousands of people to Jesus every month through television and social media in Mexico and other Spanish-speaking countries. Additionally, he has overseen the expansion of the Superbook curriculum, establishing it as credible Sunday school material for children’s discipleship in churches nationwide. 

In his native Costa Rica, Esteban received the Rene Picado Award from the Association of Journalists for the best audiovisual production, the Outstanding Teacher recognition from UNED, and the CBN International Award for Excellence on three occasions. 

Esteban is also a journalist, ordained chaplain, and holds a Master’s degree in Human Rights with Magna Cum Laude honors. He was the first anchor and associate producer of the news program Mundo Cristiano, which has been on the air for nearly twenty years.
