Turn a Policy into a Powerful Gift
Donating a life insurance policy—either during your lifetime or to be paid out after your lifetime—is a powerful and practical way to provide help and hope to hurting children and families around the world through Operation Blessing and Orphan’s Promise. This gift may allow you to make a more significant impact than you ever thought possible—without affecting your current income.
Benefits
During Lifetime:
- You may donate outright a life insurance policy that is no longer needed. Operation Blessing and Orphan’s Promise would have the option of either holding or surrendering the policy to receive the current cash value. You may donate a policy that is paid up or one with ongoing premium payments.
- You may be eligible for a tax deduction for the policy’s current value and for additional premium payments you make after donating a policy that still requires premiums.
- Remember, employer-sponsored life insurance is often offered at no cost to you.
After Lifetime:
- You may name Operation Blessing or Orphan’s Promise as a full, partial, or contingent beneficiary of any policy.
- This may reduce your taxable estate and lower estate taxes.
Ask your insurance provider for more details or consult your legal or financial advisor to help you decide which option is best for you.
